Our client is a leading global FMCG brand, under the umbrella of one of the biggest Food & Beverage conglomerates in the world. Currently, the company is active in SOUTH KOREA in a small scale via a distributor. During the last few years sales have been growing slowly.  SOUTH KOREA is considered as a strategic market and therefore the company has decided to open a local subsidiary.

The Role
The Country Manager reports to the Head of Region (Chief Business Officer). The role will have a broad and hands-on remit, opening the office in SOUTH KOREA from scratch, including recruiting staff, building business infrastructure and setting relationships with customers, taking full P&L responsibility for the SOUTH KOREA business and leading the development of the strategy by demand creation in both food and non-food channels, creation of brand heat, strategical PR, execution of big and bold POS and the opening of new doors.

This position will initially lead a team of 4, including Marketing, Sales, Logistics and Finance in order to set-up the business.

  • Experience in a similar role – managing a market with similar scale, experience in launching / growing a business – a must
  • Marketing and Sales background and thorough understanding of the SOUTH KOREA consumer – a must
  • FMCG, sales/retail experience – a must
  • E-commerce – strong plus
  • Experience from the food industry / home appliances – strong plus
  • Ability to work in a global and multi-cultural environment
  • Drives for results in the right manner (with the highest sense of urgency)
  • Organizational leadership and team development (leads through influence)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills (verbal and written)
  • Innovative and creative thinking (need fresh, imaginative thinking)
