CRO (Fintech)
Position Summary
The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for defining and executing the company’s global Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy to accelerate sustainable revenue growth.
The company provides enterprise Financial services solutions to banks, financial institutions and multinational corporations worldwide. The CRO will lead all customer-facing commercial functions and drive the company’s commercial strategy across complex, consultative enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and executive-level decision makers.
The role owns the entire customer revenue lifecycle—from market strategy and demand generation through enterprise sales, customer expansion and long-term customer success-ensuring a seamless customer journey and maximizing lifetime customer value.
A critical success factor for this role is the ability to combine exceptional sales leadership with strong strategic, analytical, and execution capabilities. The CRO needs to be a structured builder of the commercial engine and a strongly data-driven leader, able to use market, sales, customer, pipeline, and performance data to identify growth opportunities, prioritize resources, improve conversion, and create predictable, scalable revenue growth. The CRO must work in a disciplined and methodical way, translate insights into clear priorities, and drive actionable growth plans across the commercial organization.
Working closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, the CRO will help shape corporate strategy, identify new market opportunities, strengthen the company’s competitive positioning and build a scalable, world-class commercial organization.
The CRO will lead and develop a high-performing commercial organization, including Regional Heads of Business, Sales Directors, Marketing, Pre-Sales, Account Management and Customer Success.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Develop and execute the company’s global GTM strategy across banking, financial services and multinational enterprise markets.
- Define market segmentation, target customer profiles, value propositions, competitive positioning and commercial priorities.
- Develop strategies for both new logo acquisition and expansion within existing strategic accounts in collaboration with the strategy manager
- Identify new geographic markets, industry verticals and strategic growth opportunities.
- Align commercial strategy with product roadmap, corporate objectives and market dynamics.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, customer needs, and competitive activity within financial services and enterprise technology markets.
Revenue Growth
- Own the company’s revenue strategy and commercial performance.
- Drive sustainable growth through new customer acquisition, customer retention and expansion.
- Develop predictable and scalable revenue generation processes.
- Improve pipeline quality, conversion rates, deal velocity and forecast accuracy.
- Ensure disciplined management of complex enterprise sales cycles while maintaining healthy long-term growth.
Management
- Establish and lead a disciplined, data-driven commercial operating model built on best-in-class sales management practices.
- Implement rigorous pipeline management, accurate forecasting, structured sales cadence, opportunity inspection, account planning, and performance reviews across all commercial teams.
- Define and monitor meaningful KPIs and dashboards, leveraging CRM and business intelligence tools to drive fact-based decision-making
- Identify trends, optimize resource allocation and continuously improve commercial performance
- Implement a methodical approach to sales execution, including standardized sales methodologies, qualification frameworks, territory and quota planning, sales enablement, and operational governance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous coaching and operational excellence, ensuring that commercial decisions are driven by data, customer insights, and measurable business outcomes
- Promote cross-functional alignment and continuous process improvement across the entire revenue organization.
Enterprise Sales Leadership
- Lead the global sales organization through Regional Heads of Business.
- Drive consistent execution of enterprise sales methodologies, account planning, pipeline management and forecasting.
- Build strong executive relationships with C-level stakeholders at banks and multinational corporations.
- Personally engage in strategic opportunities and executive negotiations for major enterprise accounts.
- Ensure effective coordination across regions to support global customers with multi-country operations.
Marketing Leadership
- Lead the global marketing organization to strengthen market presence and generate qualified pipeline by:
- Building thought leadership within financial services and corporate treasury markets.
- Positioning the company as a trusted strategic technology/ business partner.
- Driving account-based marketing (ABM) programs targeting strategic financial institutions and global enterprises.
- Measuring marketing effectiveness through pipeline contribution and revenue impact.
Solution Consulting
- Provide executive leadership and strategic direction to the Solution Consulting function, led by the Head of Solution Consulting who reports to the CRO.
- Hold overall accountability for the performance, effectiveness, and commercial contribution of the Solution Consulting function across all business units and regions, with day-to-day leadership carried out by the Head of Solution Consulting.
- Set expectations for differentiated solution positioning and improved competitive win rates, ensuring Solution Consulting supports sales with strong business, functional, and technical value articulation.
- Ensure that solution consulting activities—including technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and RFP/RFI responses—are executed to a high standard and consistently support sales success across the organization.
Customer Success & Strategic Account Growth
- Lead the Account Management and Customer Success organizations to:
- Maximize customer retention and long-term customer value.
- Increase expansion revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
- Strengthen executive relationships across global banking and corporate customers.
- Improve customer adoption and business outcomes.
- Reduce customer churn.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with key accounts.
Executive Leadership
- As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CRO will:
- Contribute to corporate strategy and long-term business planning.
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive peers on growth initiatives.
- Provide accurate revenue forecasting and commercial performance reporting.
- Champion customer-centric decision making across the organization.
- Represent the company with key customers, strategic partners, analysts, and industry events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Extensive senior commercial leadership experience.
- Proven success leading global Sales and Marketing organizations within enterprise B2B technology, SaaS, or fintech companies.
- Significant experience selling complex enterprise software or technology solutions to banks, financial institutions, and/or multinational corporations.
- Strong understanding of consultative enterprise sales methodologies and long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Demonstrated success managing strategic global accounts and executive customer relationships.
- Experience leading geographically distributed commercial organizations.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience in recurring revenue business models.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive influencing skills.
